Adaptation of Joyce Maynard’s novel starring Nicole Kidman; a breakthrough performance.

Just finished Maynard’s novel a week ago; good characterizations. Loosely inspired by the Pamela Smart murder case in the early ’90s. Maynard wrote she wanted to “explore questions of fidelity, love, sexual obsession, ambition, violence, and how our thoughts about these things are created and manipulated by television, movies, popular music and magazines.”
